Guide young people through spiritual growth, outdoor challenge and community service. Troop 442 has been chartered with the Boy Scouts of America since 1925. Activities include Camping, Hiking, Climbing, Land Navigation, Swimming, and Canoeing. Key positions are Merit Badge Counselors and Troop Leaders. All volunteers must meet Safe Sanctuary standards, are BSA trained in Youth Protection, First Aid, and Outdoor activities. A Scouting career can expect a backpacking adventure to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, annual summer camps, monthly backpacking and canoeing adventures plus support to ascend to Eagle Rank. The Troop has its own canoes, tents and backpacks for any young person looking for an adventure.
